Due to the increase in the number of visitors or tourists coming to Jogja has prompted the government to renew and improve the city’s layout immediately, especially in the tourist area on Jalan Malioboro, Zero KM, and Tugu Jogja. On Jalan Malioboro itself, traders used to sell along the road. It affected the road congestion, so now, traders selling besides being at Beringharjo Market, which is the central location from ancient times, two new sites were made to relocate other traders, namely Teras Malioboro 1, which is in the former Indra cinema and Teras Malioboro 2 which is near the former Inna Garuda hotel from the tourism agency. Apart from that, along this Malioboro street, tourists are also presented with performances by Jogja artists who give shows with the strains of angklung music, Javanese songs, and even dangdut. This adds to the attractiveness of tourists who come.
The Zero KM area has not been spared from development either. Tourists often visit this area to enjoy the beauty of the old buildings of the Bank of Indonesia, the Post Office, and the State Palace. Apart from that, not far from Zero KM, we can also see a large Jogja square in front of the Jogja Palace and next to the Jogja Grand Mosque. There are 2 Jogja squares, the square in front of the palace is no longer used for sightseeing because there is a guardrail.
